How Pastor Tony Rapu rescued young girl addicted to crack cocaine for seven years
A young lady, about 26 years-old has been rescued from drug addicted lifestyle and placed on a rehabilitation program by a Lagos based pastor, Tony Rapu.
Pastor Tony Rapu is the senior pastor of the House of Freedom, Lagos State. He is a medical doctor, filmmaker, and chairman of the Freedom Foundation, a Non-governmental organization used to carry out his social and charity work.
Pastor Rapu and his team picked up Lizzy from the joint she frequented in Ikeja over the weekend. Lizzy shared a pathetic story of how she got into drug at a tender age.
According to her, she attended Caleb Nursery and Primary School before she proceeded to the prestigious Vivian Fowler Collage there in Lagos.
Lizzy said she begged for money in day and at nights, engaged in commercial sex so as to foot her bills and settle her drug dealers.
“I am Lizzy. I have been here now for seven years. I have been seeing different rehabilitation program, but I refused to go because I feel I they will not be able to take care of me because of the cocaine and heroin that goes inside me.
“I used to hear about Tony Rapu but I have never been opportune to meet him. When he came for bukky. I have been waiting for this moment for a very long time. I finished my secondary school from Vivian Fowler Memorial secondary school. I went to Caleb nursery and primary school. I came into drug though a friend. He used to be my boyfriend.
“He was putting it in my weed but I didn’t know. So there was one time he now showed it to me that he has been putting cocaine in my weed without my knowledge.
“So I was now like ah ah! What is this? And he said its cocaine. Why will you be putting cocaine in my weed and you didn’t tell me? That was how I went into crack cocaine.” Lizzy explained.
Pastor Rapu share the video of Lizzy’s rescue on his Instagram page and said the lady is currently undergoing her first stage of detox and rehabilitation in the long journey out of addiction.
In another video, Lizzy was filmed begging motorists for arm at Ikeja traffic.
Pastor Rapu expressed hope of seeing that Lizzy returns to a normal and productive life afterwards
