My month of resurrection and Joy. Pastor Amos Dada PhD; P.Eng

Welcome to the month of April, our month of resurrection and joy.
Resurrection means coming back to life from death.  Spring (April) means rising from dead (winter).  Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;” Jn 11:25. Jesus was talking at the tomb of Lazarus, his friend that had just died.  Martha her sister did not see any hope of seeing her brother alive again on earth, but Jesus assured her there was someone standing by her that has power over death. Jesus demonstrated that he is in charge of hell and death when with a loud voice he cried- “Lazarus come forth” And a man that was dead and buried for four days came forth! Jesus is not just a talker like other prophets, He is a doer! He confirmed that statement in two ways, raising Lazarus from the dead and coming out of the grave on the third day!   The good news is that Man Jesus is still alive and is with you where you are right now! And with a loud voice like Jesus, I decree and declare “Come out from that grave in Jesus’ name” Whatever good thing in you that is dead I command them to come alive in Jesus’ name. All the dead matters, dead marriages, dead hopes, dead businesses, dead parts/organs of your bodies, dead dreams, dead ministry, dead womb, dead brains come alive in Jesus’ name. Resurrection brings joy and peace. I see you rejoicing this month! Whatever has brought you sorrow, anguish, despair, depression, frustration shall turn around and bring joy again. Even those who were mocking Jesus came to watch a free movie/live performance:  “Meanwhile a large crowd of Jews found out that Jesus was there and came, not only because of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead” John 12:9.   In the month of resurrection and joy I see your mockers, detractors, those who thought it is over for you sharing your testimony albeit with pain! Happy Month of Resurrection and Joy in Jesus name.  Glory to God Ukraine will resurrect! -- What is resurrection?
It is the action or fact of resurrecting or being resurrected. It means there is life after death.  All will die, but not all will experience the second death. This is because of Jesus and his atoning death for all who have trusted their lives to him will resurrect on the glorious morning.
According to Wikipedia 'Resurrection (from Latin resurrection) is the concept of a living being coming back to life after death. It is a religious concept, where it is used in two distinct respects: a belief in the resurrection of individual souls that is current and ongoing (Christian idealism, realized eschatology), or else a belief in a singular resurrection of the dead at the end of the world. The resurrection of the dead is a standard eschatological belief in the Abrahamic religions'     What is the significance/purpose of Jesus resurrection to you today?
Christianity, the message of Jesus, the life, death and resurrection of Jesus is good news when you understand it.
The resurrection of Jesus is important for several reasons. First, the resurrection witnesses to the immense power of God Himself. To believe in the resurrection is to believe in God. If God exists, if He created the universe and has power over it, then He has power to raise the dead. If He does not have such power, He is not worthy of our faith and worship. Only He who created life can resurrect it after death. Only He can reverse the hideousness that is death itself, and only He can remove the sting and gain the victory over the grave (1 Corinthians 15:54–55). In resurrecting Jesus from the grave, God reminds us of His absolute sovereignty over life and death. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is also important because it validates who Jesus claimed to be, namely, the Son of God and Messiah. According to Jesus, His resurrection was the “sign from heaven” that authenticated His ministry (Matthew 16:1–4). The resurrection of Jesus Christ, attested to by hundreds of eyewitnesses (1 Corinthians 15:3–8) provides irrefutable proof that He is the Savior of the world.
Another reason the resurrection of Jesus Christ is important is that it proves His sinless character and divine nature. The Scriptures said God’s “Holy One” would never see corruption (Psalm 16:10), and Jesus never saw corruption, even after He died (see Acts 13:32–37). It was on the basis of the resurrection of Christ that Paul preached, “Through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin” (Acts 13:38–39).
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not only the supreme validation of His deity; it also validates the Old Testament prophecies that foretold of Jesus’ suffering and resurrection (see Acts 17:2–3). Christ’s resurrection also authenticates His own claims that He would be raised on the third day (Mark 8:31; 9:31; 10:34). If Jesus Christ is not resurrected, then we have no hope that we will be either. In fact, apart from Christ’s resurrection, we have no Savior, no salvation, and no hope of eternal life. As Paul said, our faith would be “useless,” the gospel would be altogether powerless, and our sins would remain unforgiven (1 Corinthians 15:14–19).
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is important as a testimony to the resurrection of human beings, which is a basic tenet of the Christian faith. Unlike other religions, Christianity has a founder who transcends death and promises that His followers will do the same. Every other religion was founded by men or prophets whose end was the grave. As Christians, we know that God became man, died for our sins, and was resurrected the third day. The grave could not hold Him. He lives, and He sits today at the right hand of the Father in heaven (Hebrews 10:12).
The Word of God guarantees the believer’s resurrection at the coming of Jesus Christ for His church at the rapture. Such assurance results in a great song of triumph as Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:55, “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” (cf. Hosea 13:14).
We can be free and forgiven by Jesus' death. (Isaiah 56:6-10, Romans 4:25) Jesus defeated death so we don't have to fear it. (2 Peter 1:16, Acts 1:3, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8) The resurrection enables us to have God's spirit inside us. (Acts 1:8, Ephesians 1:19-20) God loves us unconditionally. (John 3:16,17, 1 John 13:34-35) God has a greater purpose for our lives. (Mark 8:35, Acts 15:26, 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, Philippians1:21) We can be certain of a future in heaven. (1 Peter 1:4, 1 Corinthians 2:9, John 14:6, Romans 10:9) Those who are dead in Christ will rise again. The resurrection of Christ assures us that there is life after death. The resurrection tells the world that the kingdom of God is ruled by a living sovereign. Jesus' resurrection proves that physical death is not the termination of human existence. The resurrection assures us that we have an advocate in heaven. The Lord's resurrection previews the ultimate victory of Christianity over all its enemies. Jesus "the lion of the tribe of Judah" has overcome his foes (rev 5:5). Christians too will overcome as a result of the Lamb's sacrifice and victory over death (Revelation 12:11). The resurrection assures us that Christ is with us in the present world, bringing healing and deliverances. The resurrection assures us of the new bodies we shall have some day. The resurrection assures us of a returning Redeemer-King. Conclusion. As we celebrate Easter this month and the resurrection, enjoy all the benefits Jesus has wrought for you. The resurrection is the triumphant and glorious victory for every believer. Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose the third day according to the Scripture. And, He is coming again! The dead in Christ will be raised up, and those who remain and are alive at His coming will be changed and receive new, glorified bodies (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
