Women who cry out God's name during sex should be jailed, a US pastor claims.
Dr John Hagee believes "there is no greater sin" than wrongly using God's name during a night of passion and "simple blasphemy" should be treated as crime.
Dr Hagee, the founder and senior pastor of the Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, points out that the Bible consistently denounces the taking of the Lord’s name in vain.
Speaking to Newslo, Dr Hagee said that "in this world of crimes and deaths that surround us, a simple blasphemy does not get that much attention when it should."
He said saying the Lord's name in vain might seem "petite and insignificant compared" to other things happening in the world but, that’s "precisely the problem".
If the shepherds of a faith start doing wrong, he said, they cannot offer guidance to their flock.
He said there was "no greater sin" that using God's name during sex, adding: "That is one of the filthiest, most derogatory and sinful uses of the Lord’s name I can think of.
"If it were up to me, I would put every single woman or girl who does that in jail."
He said that locking women up would be "a fine example of God’s wrath".
Dr Hagee did not explain how women would be caught and prosecuted for the 'crime' of using God's name during sex - or why men should escape punishment.
