The National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), at the weekend, said 11 more bodies of Nigerian pilgrims killed during Hajj in Saudi Arabia have been identified.
This puts the current total number of those who lost their lives at 75.
The previous official figure was 64.
NAHCON Public Relations Officer, Mallam Uba Mana, added that the total number of pilgrims missing was 241.
He assured that the agency was doing all within its power to locate those still missing.
NAHCON further confirmed that Saudi Arabia had opened an identification office for missing persons.
“This is a good development, because it will ease a little tension of a lot of pilgrims across the country”, NAHCO stated.
“The Saudi authorities have since taken responsibility for the medical bills of the victims”, he added.
