Proshare news and analysis outfit has outlined a number of ministers and ministries implicated in dishing out tax waivers for some companies in the country, leading to a loss of over $20bn as stipulated by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala.
According to Proshare, "a cursory review of this development will immediately identify the following MDA’s/ministries/ministers as the key loopholes as including:
The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Deziani Alison-Madueke;
The Minister of Industries, Trade and Investment, Mr. Olusegun Aganga;
The Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Akinwunmi Adesina;
The Minister Of Solid Minerals Development,
The Department Nigerian Customs & Excise Duties
The list doesn't end there, it said.
"This is besides the fact that federally accruable revenues to the federation account have been diminished through the use of “autonomy” for such agencies like NNPC, NPA, CBN, SEC and a host of others," it added.
