The major problem that has bedeviled Nigeria as a country for a long is the fact that the country is engulfed in corruption. Corruption cases have eaten deep into the fabric of all sectors in Nigeria. And a reason why President Muhammadu Buhari declared that if Nigeria does not kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria.

One of the sectors in Nigeria where corruption has been deeply rooted is in that of civil service. Civil servant aid and abate corruption in Nigeria. That is why according to a report by Daily Trust, Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has stated that an employee verification exercise has uncovered names of babies in the payroll of the Shani Local Government Area. The monthly salaries and allowances paid to fake employees including the babies were reportedly siphoned by corrupt officials. Zulum disclosed this at the Menwara Cultural Festival in Shani Town on Saturday.

Many Nigerians would have wondered when corruption will end in Nigeria. But the answer is rhetoric. Why? Because nobody can give a definite answer to the question. But the truth is that corruption can be reduced in Nigeria. The Government needs to put in place policies that will stop people from being corrupt in Nigeria.
