Many aggrieved individuals have taken to social media to share their unsettling encounters after attempting to visit the said establishment.
A Nigerian man has lamented the discriminatory act of a Chinese supermarket in Abuja.
He said the supermarket doesn't allow Nigerian shop within its premises, as it is exclusively for Chinese citizens.
The supermarket, known for its Chinese food and drinks, reportedly has a policy that only allows people of Chinese origin to enter, discriminating against Nigerians.
Sharing the video of the incident, the man wrote:
“They told me at the gate that the supermarket is strictly for Chinese people. You are a Nigerian, you can’t go inside, you can’t buy anything."
Security personnel stationed at the entrance confirmed the existence of the directive, purportedly issued by the management earlier in the year, yet provided no rationale behind its enforcement.
“We were not informed of any reason for the policy, but we have told them to remove all adverts from the Internet so that people would stop coming,” one of the security personnel said.
