Up and coming Nollywood actress, Crystabel Goddy has been suspended by the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, following her brutal attack on fellow actress, Princess Chineke.
DAILY POST recalls that the actresses, while on location last Friday at a place in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos state for a popular soap opera were involved in a heated argument which landed them in a messy tussle.
Princess had allegedly warned Crystabel about her constant late night calls to her alleged lesbian partner for three nights, which she said disturbed her sleep.
Trouble started when they were about going to bed on the said night and the duo was said to have argued and in the cause of that, Crystabel slapped Princess.
Princess was said to have retaliated when Crystabel grabbed Princess’ thigh with her teeth, bit off a chunk of her flesh which brought out her veins.
The AGN in a statement issued on Monday by the National Public Relations Officer, PRO, Moji Oyetayo, said the actress has been suspended.
The statement claimed that the National President of the actors’ body in Nigeria, Ibinabo Fiberesima, in the statement, condemned the ‘dastardly act of inflicting such a dangerous bodily injury on her colleague.’
According to the statement, Ibinabo said, “The Guilds and Associations in Nollywood have been duly notified of the suspension while the National and state task forces have been kept on alert to disengage her from all sets pending when the suspension would be lifted.
“The Guild has set up a high powered committee headed by the National Chief Whip, Empress Eneh to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the matter.”
The president “frowned at the act of cannibalism and urged all members to make discipline their watchword because we are the mirror of the society.
“Crystabel shall remain on suspension until the outcome of the investigation as stipulated by the constitution of the Guild,” the statement added.
