A talented Russian pianist born without hands has won over the nation with his beautiful version of the Twilight melody.
Musical prodigy Alexey Romanov has become a renowned piano player, despite being born without hands and with only one foot due a debilitating disease.
The 16-year-old has been offered a place at a music school after he moved a crowd to tears with his rendition of River Flows in You by South Korean pianist Yiruma.
In footage filmed in February he is welcomed to the stage, alongside La Primavera chamber orchestra, with a huge round of applause.
Following the performance he was invited to join a music school and to participate in the Guests from Tomorrow TV project.
Shy Romanov told Russia Beyond the Headlines: "During the concert with the orchestra I was shaking from the tension. I can't even remember what was happening.
“But there was nothing I could do: I walked onto the stage, sat down and started playing. I felt my knees shaking.
"Then I realized that I was doing well – it's as if the melody started flowing by itself. And so I calmed down.”
Romanov, who was born an orphan in Zelenodolsk, first took up music about two years ago after being inspired by the works of Mozart and Vivaldi.
His incredible musical talent was spotted by his foster parents, Vladimir and Luisa Levachkovye, and at school his music teacher encouraged him to play popular film tunes from movies like cult vampire flick Twilight and Titanic.
Since the video of his performance was uploaded online, people have flocked to praise the young pianist.
On YouTube David Walsh wrote: "Awesome, wow" and bendetti wrote: "Marvellous.
While others also shared their views on the musician on Facebook.
Svetlana Bondareva wrote: "Alex just a hero, worthy of respect and praise! Health to you, chelovechische, and happiness in life."
Alexander Yerofeyev wrote: "A role model for many of us who are born healthy."
River Flows in You was used in a scene in Twilight where Bella auditions on the piano in front of vampire Edward. It has since been known to fans as "Bella's Lullaby."
