The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has banned Wande Coal's 'Iskaba', Falz's 'This is Nigeria' and Olamide's 'See Mary, See Jesus'.
This was conveyed in a letter dated August 6th, 2018 and addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, JODAJ Global Communications Limited, Jos, owners of Jay FM 101.9.
The letter which was shared by popular Lagos based radio personality, Folaranmi Folayanstates varying reasons for the fine ranging from 'vulgar and indecent lyrics' in contravention of the body's regulations.
Apparently Falz's line "this is Nigeria; look how we living now. everybody be criminal" has been flagged "vulgar" and the song is now declared "unfit for radio".

Other songs on the list include Wande Coal's 2016 hit single 'Iskaba' alongside DJ Kaywiseand Olamide's 'See Mary See Jesus' released earlier in the year, which was banned for 'casual use of the names 'Mary' and 'Jesus'.
The letter in part reads:
''On 30th July, 2018 at about 9.56am, your station aired a song by Falz titled ''This is Nigeria'' laced with vulgar lyrics, ''this is Nigeria, look how we living now, everybody be criminal.''
Also on August 1st 2018, at about 3.50pm, you aired a song by Wande Coal titled, ''Iskaba'' with vulgar lyrics, ''Girl you de make me kolo, shaking the ass like kolo'' in contravention of Section 3.6.1 and 3.13.2.2c.'' the letter read.
The body therefore fined the radio station an amount in the sum of N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira) only.

Muric threatens Falz with lawsuit over 'This is Nigeria' video
On June 5, MURIC issued a seven-day ultimatum to Falz, ordering him to take down his music video titled “This is Nigeria” and tender an apology or face legal action.
The ultimatum immediately generated a lot of reactions and criticisms from Nigerians who condemned the group.
The group however backed down on its threat in a fresh statement signed by the its director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, and made available on Monday, June 11, stating that they would now report Falz to the appropriate agencies.
