There was a get together last week Thursday at Matthew House in Toronto to celebrate 20 years of welcoming the World.  The guests experienced vibrant international cultures while visiting food stations showcasing the diverse origins of the community.

A special musical performance by Paul Beaubrun turned the crowd to dancers when the thunderous voice of "No woman, No Cry" rented the air.  With his exemplary performance surely, Paul Beaubrun would soon make his mark in the Raggea Music industry.  Listeners, dancers and perhaps raggae lovers sensed another Raggae King is in the making.

Satisified with his sonorous and velvet tone of this Raggae Artist, everybody turned their eyes to this Artist with dreadlock on stage, singing different lyrics and in between jumping up and pointing to high heavens like Bob Marley.  I bent my head in silence having satisfied with his brilliant performance.  Immediately after his performance, I did my best to persuade him  to grant me an interview after introducing myself as the Publisher of Oasesnews.  I perceived  that it was an opportunity moment for musical interview luckily my interruption shortly after his performance did find favour with the Haiti Artist. 

"Do you know what I was just thinking about ?"  I asked the  German woman who invited me to attend the occassion, she replied; "yes, it is a thought that comes to you often - to interview this musician, I trust you that you always take advantage of every possible opportunity." the German woman concluded.

Matthew House is in the heart of Toronto, it is a shelter that takes care of refugees.    "Each year millions of refugees make the difficult decision to flee their homelands in search of a safe place to call home. A few manage to secure sponsorships ahead of time, but many, in desperation, seek protection upon arrival in a new country. In Canada, there are no formal support services for these refugee claimants, making their initial days very difficult".
