Dele Momodu absent as NAPTIP continues hearing in Davido/Sophia crisis

The Lagos State office of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has quizzed popular hip hop artiste, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido based on the petition received from his estranged baby mama, Sophia Momodu.

It would be recalled that Sophia had accused Davido and his family of attempts to smuggle out of the country, their seven-month old baby, Imade Adeleke, few days ago, without her consent.

But a reliable source at the anti-trafficking agency, confirmed that the hip hop artist arrived at the Lagos office of NAPTIP around 11:07am on Wednesday. He was said to have given his statement based on the allegations leveled against him by Sophia.

In a chain of ugly developments, Sophia had also written to demand the release of original medical report from the supposed laboratory where the test, claiming she (Sophia) is a chain smoker of cannabis, was carried out.

Davido, had on Tuesday published on his instagram page what he allegedly called the medical report of Sophia as issued by Clina Lancet laboratory, Victoria Island, Lagos, confirming that his baby mama is a chain smoker of cannabis.

The messy fight over the trafficking or otherwise of the seven-month-old Imade started last week when Sophia through her uncle, Dele Momodu, publisher of the famous societal magazine, Ovation, petitioned NAPTIP, alleging plans by the Adelekes to abduct the baby to America.

As it turned out however, officials of NAPTIP at Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos stopped the musician and his sister, Coco Adeleke who was said to have presented herself as the mother of Imade to get immigration clearance for the seven month-old. The Adelekes were said to be on their way to Dubai, United Araba Emirate, where they claimed the young Imade was being taken for medical treatment having allegedly inhaled from her mother, cannabis into her bloodstream.

Both Dele Momodu and Davido’s father, Dr. Deji Adeleke had also been to NAPTIP office in Lagos on Monday for a meeting. Davido’s father was however said to have left the meeting in annoyance.
