– A man died hours after winning an alcohol drinking contest in Kamuli district, Eastern Uganda

– The body of the deceased was found the next day 

A 48-year-old man was found dead on Sunday, August 7 after winning a drinking competition the previous night in Kamuli district, Eastern Uganda.

The body of the deceased was found lying by the roadside near the bar where the contest was held according to NTV Uganda.

Witnesses say the alcohol killed him.

“He died after drinking too much alcohol during the competition,” an eyewitness said.

“He drank too much alcohol and did not care about his health.”

People, however, expressed their dismay on the rising cases of deaths caused by alcoholism in the area.

“We are baffled why so many people in our area keep dying of alcohol abuse,” the outlet quoted.
