A 35-year-old Zimbabwean, Andrew chimboza, who ate his victim’s heart with a knife and fork after a row over sex has been jailed for 18 years in South Africa.

He was sentenced on Wednesday. He had pleaded guilty to stabbing 62-year-old Mbuyiselo Manona to death at the home of Manona’s lover in Cape Town’s Gugulethu township in June last year.

News24 reported that Manona had reportedly accused Chimboza of having sex with the woman. A psychiatrist told the Western Cape High Court that Chimboza claimed that the woman “had coerced him to commit the murder”.

He did not explain why he sliced up the heart and was found eating it.

A witness said:“On the scene they found a suspect, a Zimbabwean national, busy eating the heart of a human with a knife and fork”.
