A man arrested on a charge of assault after allegedly beating up his best friend in court for marrying his former wife, police in Zimbabwe said.
 

Harare police said that they have arrested 40-year-old Cosmas Kanhonho, after being accused of assaulting Bothwell Danda, following the marriage to his former wife Agness Manjese.

Kanhonho was charged with assault and violating a protection order.

According to the police investigation, Kanhonho and Manjese split up after 17 years of marriage when she found him cheating on her with another woman.


On the day of the incident, Kanhonho came to the Harare Magistrates’ Courts, for an unrelated manner. Suddenly, he saw his best friend and former wife getting married.

He became extremely angry, and punched his friend repeatedly in the face. Danda, who moved to South Africa with his wife, suffered a split lip.
