As the controversy over the status of the 2016 budget appropriation bill document laid before the two chambers of the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari rages, several copies of the document were delivered at the Assembly complex on Tuesday.

A mini-bus marked BENUE XA 374 GTJ which brought the copies probably from an unknown commercial printing press arrived the complex around 11:00 a.m.

Accoding to an eyeswitness, “we just saw the mini-bus at the rear entrance of the National Assembly and the people that accompanied it started offloading the copies of the 2016 budget,that is all I can tell you for now.”

Though the copies of the budget were initially offloaded at a corner near the rear entrance of the complex, an unidentified official of National Assembly later came and inspected the copies before they were taken to an unknown location within the complex.

As of the press time, it could not be confirmed whether or not the copies contained the amendment being sought by President Buhari as he had already written to the National Assembly for the withdrawal of the copy he laid before the lawmakers last year.
