The Dasukigate to me is the shame of a nation. This is a nation besieged by a faceless group called Boko Haram that specialized in killing kidnapping , destroying properties and maiming people. This is a group that has killed thousand of Nigerians and led many to refugee camps. Then the government in power claimed he was fighting this group and needed money.  Went out cap in hand to beg nations that managed their national resources well and got funds from them to fight these insurgents, only to get the money and shared it the way we are reading about it.

How do you imagine a nation crying that Abacha stole money from government coffers, took it to Switzerland and you spent millions to get the money back only for you to share the money irresponsibly.  In a nation that is begging for stable power supply, good hospitals and better roads?

What a shame of shameful leaders!
What a shame of irresponsible and corrupt leaders. What a shame of fathers and mothers that cannot take care of their children.

What is disturbing to me is that these are people who go to one church, mosque or the other yet stealing public funds recklessly. What are you doing with all the 'thou shall not.... You hear every Sunday and Friday? These are people who go to functions and make speeches and are addressed as honourables and excellencies proclaiming to be leading the nation.

Where is the fear of God?
Where is respect for public trust?
Why our leaders showing to the committee of nations that we are not capable of governing ourselves? No wonder the likes of Donald Trump are making jest of us Africans and asking that we are recolonized by the whites for another hundred years. Can you blame him?
Who will deliver Nigerians from these corrupters?
When are we going to wake up as a nation and take responsibility to rule ourselves well and build a virile nation and lay good examples for generations to come?

The greater shame is if the current government will only expose these thieves and let them go under one guise of rule of law . If these ones  are not made to refund the looted funds and jailed that will be the greatest shame of the nation.

It's time people realize that you cannot just abuse place of trust.  It's time that people are shown that they should be contented with their wages. It's time people are shown that you cannot just steal government funds and get away with it. It's time we show that we qualify for independence.

I can only hope that when the funds are refunded we shall not be exposed to this disgraceful public glare of shame by successive governments.
 

For once let us prove the likes of Hegel wrong, the father of history who said 'history has shown nobody learns from history. '
Let us learn and redeem our nation from this show of shame!
