Boko Haram members, Saturday evening, attacked a village at Dalori near University of Maiduguri, Borno State.
Our correspondent had reported that the insurgents burnt down the village before they were repelled by soldiers.
Speaking with DAILY POST Sunday evening, a source confirmed that the insurgents killed some villagers.
“Boko Haram stormed Dalori in 10 hilux vehicles, one Armoured Personnel Carrier and 20 motorcycles.
“The death figure is speculative at the moment; some say over 100 while others say nearly 200.
“Some people said nearly 70 dead persons were taken to the hospital and that over 40 were injured.
“I don’t have the exact figure but it is alarming. I was reliably informed that scores were killed.
“Let me also inform you that suicide bombers hit fleeing villagers.
“Again, Boko Haram fighters in military uniforms killed another set of persons.
“Villagers thought they were soldiers and ran to them for help.
“As they approached, the insurgents opened fire. Eye witnesses say the attackers spoke in Kanuri.”
DAILY POST obtained images from scene of the Dalori deadly invasion.
