Man nabbed in Enugu for operating baby factory

 

A 72-year-old man, Mr. Ozor Akpudachie, is being held by the police in Enugu for allegedly operating a baby factory.

our reporter gathered that Akpudachie from Ogui-Eke in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State operated the ‘factory’ in his residence.

Four girls in various stages of pregnancy were found in the suspect’s house in Ogui-Eke village. All the girls are from Ebonyi State.

Spokesman of the Enugu State Police Command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the development, identified the girls as Chigozie Ejie, 19, from Izza, in Ezzamgbo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and Nworie Chijindu, also from Izza, in Ezzamgbo Local Government.

Others, according to Amarizu, are Miracle Onwe, 18, from Ntezia in Ishielu Local Government Area and Emmanuela Nwedu, 20, from Oyikwa, in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Amaraizu said the suspect was being investigated for alleged child trafficking and added that the girls were also in police custody.

The Enugu State Police Command spokesman explained that the suspect, Akpudachie, was arrested when police operatives raided his house, following intelligence reports that indicated that he was operating a baby factory in his house.

Amaraizu said the police were conducting further investigations into the matter.
