Budget Mafia, Budget Padding And The Die Hard Saboteurs Of Budget Of Change By Alhassan Dambatta

For the third time, the 2016 budget laying and presentation was intentionally postponed by the budget mafia, this is after the budget paddies have finished all necessary padding aimed at satisfy their hunger for sabotage.

The passage of the fiscal document was first fixed for February 25 2016 but both chambers postponed it following errors and padding of the document by the budget mafia and affiliates, whose aims was to embrass the president Muhammad Buhari and simultaneously denying the Nigerian people especially the masses and the downtrodden the opportunity to feel the change and experience good governance by the new government of change.

Our noble president while presenting the budget 2016 eloquently informed that the Budget proposal, the first by the Government, seeks to stimulate the economy, making it more
competitive by focusing on infrastructural development, delivering inclusive growth and prioritizing the welfare of Nigerians. The budget will help industry, commerce and investment to pick up, will also address the immediate problems of youth unemployment and the terrible living conditions of the extremely poor and vulnerable Nigerians.

After high expectations of positive outcomes from tbe budget of 2016, the Saboteurs began their sabotages. On between January 14th and15th we heard for the first time of budget padding in Nigeria. They knew that President Muhammadu Buhari will not have time to read every single page of the budget and had used that as an excuse to tamper with figures both in the actual budget and the new one. It was only when change was in place that Nigerians come to the knowledge and realisation that, a group of untouchables, easily referred to as the budget mafia took control of the budget, forging figures in clandestine ways. This has been going on for so many years, it was only when change was in place that we come to understand their operations, alot of Nigerian resources and money have been taken over by the budget mafia through their padding of our budgets for so many years.

It was not a surprise when the mafia Don, Senator Bukola Saraki used his paddies in the revered chamber of the Nigerian senate to instigate a campaign that our budget presented by our president has disappeared into thin air. This is the same document hosted online by the budget office, but the budget mafia in their calibrated brain thinks and believed that we Nigerians will buy to their machinations. If you recall the mafia Don was under intense scrutiny and was already a customer at the code of conduct tribunal CCT.

On December 22, 2015, the president presented the appropriation bill before a joint session of the NASS and was well received as an expansionary budget aimed at stimulating the
economy. But all that has since changed because the budget mafia has sworn not to allow it see the light of the day. If not how could they promised three times but failed to pass the budget?

The Appropriation Committee of the two chambers had at a media briefing promised that the 2016 budget presented by President Muhammadu Buhari on December 22, 2015 would be passed Thursday the 17th but to our dismay a new concept of abracadabra was initiated, the budget of change is yet to be passed after so many promises. This new date of March 17 came after efforts to pass the budget on February 25, 2016 failed.

Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, who is also a member of the Appropriation Committee, noted that after laying the budget, what would remain would be merely administrative work. Senator Abdullahi further said

“God willing we are laying the budget Thursday. I can assure Nigerians that the budget will be laid Thursday” But the Thursday is already history; the budget is yet to be laid.

After eagerly waiting for the Thursday 17th march to come, after believing in the rhetorics of the budget mafia’s, after accepting our path to change, they have now sang another song, but this time by a two heart Buhari admirer and follower in person of senator Ndume.

Senate Leader, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume informed us on Wednesday 16th that the budget would now be passed on Tuesday March 22, 2016. Ndume also said that a clean copy of the budget would be transmitted to President Buhari on Wednesday, March 23, 2016.

Why do we need people who could not keep a simple promise they made to us as our leaders? Why must we keep electing frauds and criminals as our leaders, whose only interest is self-serving? Why must we keep allowing activities of such selfish and self-centered individuals to prosper? We all have to wake up, Nigeria is still held captive, and we must uproot the central root before we can cut up the supply that nourished their impetus.

This budget 2016 directly effects our lives, the 500,000 unemployed graduates are yet to be enlisted, the 10,000 police officers are yet to be recruited, the 12,000 soldiers are also yet to be engage, the draining of river Niger is yet to start, the new national carrier is yet to be inaugurated, many, hundreds upon hundreds of goodies are yet to come to us all because of the activities of budget mafia’s. It is a good sacrifice to die saying NO to this group of anti-change, anti-Christ, we must always say No to these Budget mafia’s, paddlers and Saboteurs of budget of Change.

Comrade, Alhassan Haruna Danbatta.
