A man was arrested after raping a 12-year-old girl.

The man of Lagos, Nigeria, was arrested after paying the girl $1 and he warned her not to tell anyone about the rape.

However, the girl’s mother saw that she was very sad when she returned home, and demanded to know what happened.

When the mother learned about the rape, she called the police, leading to the arrest of 30-year-old Nurudeen Owolabi.

Owolabi became close to the victim when he dated her sister. However, the two have since separated and he has a new girlfriend.

Owolabi told police that he was upset because his new girlfriend refused to come over to his house and have sex with him.

“I saw her passing my house and I called her to come in. I had sex with her,” the suspect said. He admitted that he paid the victim $1 for having sex with him, according to police.

“Later, her mother stormed into my house and asked why I wanted to destroy her daughter's life. It wasn't my fault, the devil made me do it,” he told police.
