Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday visited the headquarters of Sterling Bank Plc in Lagos for reasons yet unknown.
Sources say the Managing Director of the bank, Yemi Adeola, was questioned for over hours, but the details were not disclosed.
When contacted on the development, officials of the bank refused to confirm or deny the visit by the EFCC operatives.
We are yet to receive any official statement either from management of bank, or the EFCC concerning their visit to Sterling Bank
Last month the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank Plc, Nnamdi Okonkwo and some officials of the bank were arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC).
They are alleged to have received the sum of $115 million from one of the most powerful minister under the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
