A father was arrested on a charge of rape after being accused of raping his mentally disabled son, according to police in Zimbabwe.

 Limpopo police said that they have arrested the 48-year-old father identified as Mashudu, after neighborhood residents were seen beating him for having sex with his 21-year-old son identified as Zwanga.

At first, the neighbors beat Zwanga as well, but after he told them that his father raped him since his mother died, they left him alone.

The neighbors then burned down Mashudu’s house and told him to leave town. Zwanga told investigators that his father began raping him when his mother died.

Mashudu warned his son not to tell anyone about the rape or he will kill him. During questioning, Mashudu told police that he raped his son to cure him of his mental illness.
