Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has said no fewer than 100 officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority were dismissed in the last one year.
He said this on Friday at the ongoing annual ministerial briefing holding in Ikeja to mark the first one year of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in office.
Mobereola disclosed that the officials were dismissed for various unpardonable offences bordering on unethical conducts.
He said: “Up to 100 LASTMA staff members have been dismissed while many were demoted.”
Noting that government had trained and retrained several LASTMA officials for effective service delivery, Mobereola advised them to carry out their duties within the law and stop extorting money from motorists.
