A young girl was crushed to death after walking onto train tracks while texting on her phone, according to police in Spain.

Murcia police said that the train accident unfolded on Tuesday around 4:30 p.m., while the girl was walking to attend a dance class.

 The girl, who was not been identified, did not notice the approaching train because she was wearing headphones and distracted with texting on her cellphone.

Witnesses at the scene told police that they heard the train’s warning sounds three times, but the girl failed to notice and continued walking on the tracks.

The conductor of the train told police that he could not brake in time because it was traveling at 90 miles per hour.

Firefighters were called to the scene, but could not save her life.

The girl did not have any identification, but police managed to figure out her identity by looking in her phone, which was not damaged.

Police called the contact listed as Mom, and informed her that her daughter died.
