We cannot continue to celebrate corruption, lies, religious discrimination, tribalism, and societal degradation and still expect all to be well with Nigeria. A succession of undisciplined, confused and characterless leaders in a country naturally gives birth to militancy, and insurgency.

Leaders work hard to promote their selfish and parochial interest and in the process destroy the unity of the country. Yet, they expect all to be well. There is corruption and abuse of firearms by the army and the Nigeria military in general, including the Police. And their leaders, and other leaders, I mean the political class, are aware; but there is no desire to curb it. Yet, we are expecting peace to reign. Political leaders are not concerned about service to fatherland. Most spiritual leaders are charlatans, and yet we still feel people should not be angry with issues. The Nigeria public is getting impatient, and justifiably so.

Where is the positive change that was promised? No clear direction. Selfishness is the order of the day, while the Nigerian populace is being threatened with rifles on a daily basis. Still, we hypocritically condemn militancy, youth restiveness, or even terrorism. When are we going to stop deceiving ourselves? Peoples’ rights are being trampled upon. People are killed on a daily basis by the evil Nigeria military and police force. Or, what would one expect when the President is very godless and tribalistic. The chief of staff is blood-thirsty. Besides the hundreds of Shiites killed few months back, activists of state of Biafra have been killed in large numbers, and now militants and non-militants are being killed because they are fighting for their rights. Blood-shed, diversion of public funds and outright stealing are common with our leaders, both at the federal and state levels. It is important to remind them that God hates shedding of blood. Woe to those shedding blood, either directly or by proxy. They will not escape God’s anger.

The Nigeria Police Force is the worst organisation I have ever seen. The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) should not come on television and say he is fighting crime, because he is lying. Few weeks ago I alerted him that a syndicate was using ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and President Muhammadu Buhari’s names and pictures to dupe people. They were even demanding money from me. Thank God, I downloaded our conversation, Facebook accounts, and all as exhibits, if required. Yet, the I-G, Solomon Arase, kept mum. I informed the press. Whatever feeling the IGP has against me for being outspoken, what about the image of Goodluck and Buhari? The Nigeria press men are witnesses. I made copies available to them, including Femi Adesina and Garba Shehu via e-mail.

Given the magnitude of injustice and inequality in the system, how do we expect the country to move forward? Sixty years after discovering oil in Oloibiri, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, the village has nothing to show for it. The federal and state governments have raped Oloibiri. And now there is grand plan by the government to destroy the Niger Delta. Do you think God will grant  such useless prayer? Are the militants not fighting for their rights? When there is inequality everywhere, why won’t there be militancy?

Isaiah Chapter 5 verse 20, says: “Woe to those who call evil good….” And many are they in Nigeria who take delight in such acts.

Our values have to change, otherwise a time will come when selfish leaders would be rounded up and slaughtered as animals. Let them stop tempting God.

Nigerians have reached the stage of holding their leaders accountable. We desire a sane society. Advocacy has to be encouraged. There must be accountability. Elected leaders have to represent the people positively, else there would be disaster!

Those in authority should stop these senseless killings. Leave the militants alone, find out their grouse and negotiate with them: they are human beings. Respect citizen’s constitutional rights and release Nnamdi Kanu, immediately.

Repent and come back to God for the forgiveness of your sins. A word is enough for the wise.
