The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Sunday announced the arrest of a man who confessed that three of his children are “arrow heads” of the Boko Haram sect.
Ibrahim Abdullahi, commandant of the NSCDC in Borno, disclosed this to NAN in an interview, saying the man who is also a kingpin of the sect was apprehended in Askira Uba local government area of Borno state on Tuesday.
“Our men have made remarkable progress by arresting a Boko Haram kingpin,” Abdullahi said.
“The notorious kingpin was said to be a recruiter as well as supplier of arms and IEDs to Boko Haram terrorists.
“He confessed that his three children were also arrow heads of the Boko Haram sect.”
The commandant said the suspect had been handed over to the army for further investigation.
Security agencies have to a large extent succeeded in bringing insurgency under control.
