Boko Haram to strike Abuja, Imo, markets, schools, police stations around the north

The army headquarters has revealed plans by terrorist sect Boko Haram to hit public places in Nigeria’s federal capital city of Abuja, the south east state of Imo and security posts in the north of Nigeria.

In a statement dispatched to all security and intelligence outfits in the country with the terse caption PLANS BY BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS GROUP TO ATTACK LOCATIONS AND OTHER PARTS OF THE COUNTRY, the defence headquarters wrote:

“Information at the disposal of the headquarters strongly points to plans by BHT terrorist group to attack various locations in different parts of the country. The targeted areas include but not limited to police stations, prison facilities, schools and market places. Details show that the terrorist group intends to target police stations/formations in Abuja, Kano, Kebbi and Sokoto States while prisons facilities will be attacked in Adamawa States”.

The statement signed by one Colonel Sulaiman on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, added that “the terrorists are reported to have deployed foot soldiers to carry out attacks on markets in Bauchi, Katsina and Imo States. Similarly, schools that are presently being reopened in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States are also at risk in the light of the wide ranging plot by the group to cause wide scale destruction.

“In view of the above, I am directed to inform you of this imminent threat and respectfully request that you take all necessary proactive measures to prevent BHTs from carrying out these heinous acts. Please treat as very urgent and acknowledge”.
