It is an irony and hypocritical when a man who shit in a Pit latrine complains about those who defecate in the bush claiming they are polluting the underground water sources or aquifers.
If you live in glass houses you shouldn’t throw stones. A man with a questionable bad character should not criticize other people for bad qualities in their character that you have yourself.
We must always be wary of people whose actions do not match their public utterances and Obasanjo is just a man in this category. (Bio ba o pa o Lomo araye o Bio ba bu lese Lomo araye o…) Here we have a pretender to integrity lambasting every living and dead soul whenever he has an opportunity to present his hypocritical views on public matters arising conjuring to his gullible listeners a self image of a most righteous man in Nigeria.
Most times when I read Obasanjo’s epistle or treatise, I wonder whether I am reading the statements of our man in Ota or maybe I am under some kinds of magical spell from our self-proclaimed stateman and rejuvenated born again pseudo anti corruption Guru.
He has made so much noise about his Ribadu led @EFCC and Okonjo Nweala led economic team that the whole thing is feeling and sounding like a war song without the warriors. Emptiness enveloping the rants of a man looking for relevance.
If I am not in the picture I shall reinvent the shadow of myself whichever way and Akintola Williams Annual Lecture seems a golden opportunity to do my flip flop doublespeak again to be in the photograph of national discourse by creating controversy, accusing every arms of government of corruption but myself as a former leader of Nigeria having no role to play in the disastrous decline of Nigeria being the only righteous and untainted president. Ah aaaaaaaaa! THUS SPOKE OBASANJO.
I do not think most Nigerians would concur with Obasanjo distorted view of himself as the conscience of the nation because we all are students of history and we knew how corruption was the state policy bequeathed to Jonathan the only difference was the secretiveness compared to Jonathan’s unbridled openness and buffoonery.
Obasanjo cannot tell us what is wrong with the present government, military and the national assembly because he presided over Nigeria for Crazy eight year but failed to change the cancerous culture that he now looked at from the outside to critique, that is the nature of a HYPOCRITE.
Hear him Obasanjo “It is easier to win an election than to right the wrongs of a badly fouled situation. When you are outside, what you see and know are nothing compared with the reality.” My question here to our self proclaimed righteous stateman is how much do you know about the badly fouled situation you bequeathed to Jonathan before he finished it off for you since those outside knew nothing about the mess you left behind.
One of the reasons why people like Obasanjo goes around pontificating in a aura of self aggrandisement is because of the failure of government to call to question via probe the administration of past Nigerian leaders thereby entrenching the false impression that they are untouchable.
It is time to change this narrative. We need to change the philosophy that preaches untouchability “silent immunity” for Past Nigerian leaders if we are going to overcome fakery and HYPOCRITES.
