Nigerian Textile Dealer Arrested with N444m Worth of Drugs on His Way to Cambodia

A textile merchant has landed in serious trouble after he was caught with drugs worth N444 million at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
 
A Nigerian identified as 47-year-old Ifeka Charles Obi from Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra state has been arrested with 4.4kgs of methamphetamine worth $1.4miilion (N444m).
 
The textile merchant was caught at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on his way to Cambodia by agents of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
 
The 40 parcels of drugs was concealed inside foodstuff and were detected during the outward screening of passengers on an Ethiopian Airline flight.
 
Obi said he had been promised N1m payment by his “sponsors”. He further revealed that he opted to deliver the drugs after he lost everything due to family problems and that it is his first attempt at smuggling drugs.
