Retired Nigerian Major General Calls For Scrapping of the Senate

I foresee a situation whereby about 150,000 retired military officers will join me to agitate that the Senate shld adjust their pay, to enable the employment of about 5million jobless Nigerians or be scrapped via a Referendum. People you claim to be representing can’t be jumping into the Lagos Lagoon while you sit your fat asses in a cosy Chamber importing N300m worth of bullet proof jeep for your pleasure.

As a retired Army Major, I’ve been surviving on an annual pay of about N1.2m with my entire family, while a silly Godforsaken citizen pockets N50m per month? For doing what? This is no longer acceptable to me.

We bled for this country and we can no longer sit bye and suffer in silence while a moronic citizen dances his brains away on camera in a very scandalous and very shameful case of forgery. What are we trying to say ?

That those of us who never embezzled a dime, not forged our academic papers nor partook in violent cultism with shedding of innocent blood, are fools condemned to a life of penury for our patriotism?

Enough is enough !!

Married with 6 children.

Dependants and aged Mother.

No criminal record what so ever both during 16 years in service and the past 13 years in medical retirement.

Yet living in penury with family, paying University and Secondary School fees via the assistance of relations, friends and military course mates.

And a Nigerian citizen pockets N50m per month for doing what for this country?

This is no longer acceptable to me and i”m appealing to all retired military officers and soldiers who are also suffering in silence all over the country to join me in sending a protest letter to the President of Nigeria and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces to please activate the process for a referendum for the scrapping of one of the two houses of the National Assembly, especially the Senate.

Their emoluments could be saved by the country to employ at least 5million poor Nigerians on the current minimum wage of N20k per month.

The emoluments of serving and retired military, police, DSS and other security officers can also be increased from this savings.

I have no doubt that this humble request of patriots will receive favourable attention from the NSA for the approval of the Commander-In-Chief .
