Three brothers: Kidnappers demand N15m ransom

The devastated couple at the Lawanson area of Surulere in Lagos State, whose three boys were abducted by a housemaid who had barely spent 24 hours under their roof, on Thursday revealed that the kidnappers had made contact, demanding N15 million ransom.
The couple, Leke Orekoya and Adebisi Orekoya, who spoke with New Telegraph in their home amidst tears, said they would give anything to see their beloved kids again.
The couple’s home was crowded as concerned friends and family members continued to call to show support.
Speaking, Leke said: “They spoke with me this morning.
“I also spoke with my children.
“The kidnappers said that if I know I ever wanted to see my kids again, I should get them N15 million.
“The discussion started this morning and we’ve not made any promise.”
The Orekoyas three children – Aremola, 11 months old; Adedamola, 4; and Damola 6 – were on Wednesday abducted by their newly-employed house help, Mary Akinloye.
Leke said the kidnappers assured him through a phone call that his children were fine.
The kidnappers told him that all they wanted and expected from him was his cooperation.
Leke added: “Earlier before now, a lot of calls have come in from people who say they saw the children at PalmGroove, others said Allen Avenue, while another person told me on phone that they were spotted at Oremilelu Street, off Ogunlana Drive.
“I contacted the Itire Police Station.
“The Divisional Officer gave me about 12 armed police officers.
“We surrounded the house and conducted thorough searching, but they were not there.”
Leke, who wondered how a day-old employee would understand their system with full confidence of abducting his children the next day, said his last hope now rests on God.
“I know God will intervene because my kids are innocents,” said Leke.
