HOW LATE ABBA KYARI ILLEGALLY SHARED $200MILLION FROM $1.099BILLION OIL BLOC MONEY TO SAHARA ENERGY

The bounties of corruption left behind by   Abba Kyari, the late Chief of Staff to President Mohammadu Buhari, is still paying dividends to his cronies and accomplices.

Besides, his accomplices still hold in trust huge sums in taxpayers’ cash for Kyari.

According to documents obtained by Pointblanknews.com, Abba Kyari, with approval from the President, allocated $200million to Sahara Energy from the $1.099billion from the controversial OML11.

It was learned that Tope Shonubi of Sahara Energy has about $400million kept in trust for late Kyari.

Inside sources told Pointblanknews.com that Sahara Energy had been under Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) watchlist over offshore processing agreements entered into during the era of former Petroleum Minister, Mrs. Dieziani Alison Madueke.

According to the document dated July 29, 2019, titled ‘ Re: Consideration Payable By NNPC For Award of OML 11’, signed by Kyari, the late Chief of Staff, illegally allocated $270million to the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority, NSIA, where Kyari’s daughter is Asst vice president.

Another $200million was allocated to a Special Purpose Vehicle, SPV.

Sources told Pointblanknews.com that the SPV is, Sahara Energy.

Kyari’s letter read in part, ‘Kindly note that the President has: (e) Directed the ministry of finance to set up a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), to be managed by the ministry of finance incorporated and to credit the SPV with the $200 million, for the electricity distribution intervention project’

(f) Directed the ministry of finance to note that the funds received from NPDC in 2019, should be allocated to the SPV, while the transfer of the funds to NSIA should be from the amount to be received in April 2020 and October 2020′

According to sources, once the $200million is received through the SPV, it is then shared amongst Kyari and promoters of Sahara Energy who are also the owners of the OML11

Sources confirmed that while Kyari has blind trust in Sahara Energy, he equally has the same in Egbin and Ikeja Disco. Sahara Group owns Egbin and Ikeja Disco.

Sources also said the $400million being kept in trust by Shonubi is from crude oil commission from the NNPC which Kyari diverted.

In May 2016, officials of the EFCC raided the Lagos and Abuja offices of Sahara Energy carting away several computers and documentary evidence of the deals, according to Pointblanknews.com sources at the anti-graft agency.

Pointblanknews.com was reliably informed that it took the efforts of Mamman Daura and Abba Kyari to halt the probe of Sahara Energy, a company believed to have skimmed over $400million from oil deals during the Allison Madueke era.

Thereafter, continued the source, Daura and the now-deceased Kyari became allies of Sahara Energy, helping the company win the 2017 Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Crude Oil term contract alongside 17 others.  Pointblanknews.com gathered that the relationship led to the secret award of the OML11 by Kyari.

Sequel to the untimely death of Malam Abba Kyari, Chief of staff to President Mohammadu Buhari, Sahara Energy, one of the indigenous oil companies that was secretly awarded the controversial OML 11 oil bloc has started moves to solidify ownership of the 28,000 barrels per day oil bloc.

The move, according to insiders, is aimed at preventing the revocation of the OML11, should a new Chief of Staff who is also likely to become the Chairman of the Board of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, emerges.

Kyari was the Chairman of the NNPC Board and he played major roles in ensuring Sahara Energy had good deals within the oil industry.

It will be recalled that Buhari’s Personal Assistant and Private Secretary, Sabiu Yusuf aka Tunde had threatened to expose all the shady oil deals the late Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mallam Abba Kyari had with Sahara Energy.

Industry sources told Pointblanknews.com that over time, Sabiu kept records and even wire-tapped conversations Kyari had with Sahara Energy. With Kyari now dead, Sabiu becomes the darling of Sahara Energy. The oil firm gladly allowed him to use their private Jet to London and from Abuja to Lagos recently.
