Some villagers who reportedly sighted bandits carrying some of the abducted students of Salihu Tanko Islamic School claimed that the children are malnourished and in pathetic condition.

One of the locals identified as Jamiu Madaki Kurmi, who was allegedly caught and shot by the bandits claimed the ''malnourished'' children were seen on the motorcycles of their abductors around Lakpama axix of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger state.  

LIB had reported on how the armed bandits stormed the school located in Tegina, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State on Sunday, May 27 and abducted the pupils, some of them who were under four years. 

The President of Lakpama Youth Assembly, Jibrin Allawa, who confirmed the latest development in a statement on Friday, July 2, said they have reached out to relevant authorities but no visible proactive measure has been taken.

"The need for a proactive measure in rescueing Abducted Kagara islamiyya school children languishing in Allawa Games Reserve," the statement read.

 

"Our attention was drawn by our locals about the movement of the Bandits carrying the school children around Lakpma axis of shiroro local Government area on Thursday evening the criminals crossed maganda junction along Allawa pandogari Road unfortunately one Jamilu Madaki kurmi was caught and shot in his hand. He confirmed to have seen the malnourished islamiyya school children on the bike's of their captors.

 

"On Sunday night, the Bandits stormed wutare village and arrested the villagers forcing them to cross the river with them. The villagers narrated the terrible situation they saw the remaining school children as pathetic.

 

"Having heard all this information we have been in touch with the relevant authorities but unfortunately no visible proactive measure has been taken.

 

"Let me use this opportunity to appreciate Concerned Shiroro Youths for always keeping tab on security situations around shiroro local Government and intimating the relevant security agencies and I will also encourage Rafi and munya youth group to come out with a formidable group to voice out your plights and enable us fight this hydra headed monsters.
