For years now parents have been protesting against massive beating and heavy punishments which teachers basically apply on students. Many claim that normal beating is better than brutal punishment which give children permanent marks. 

Apparently, a photo of some three primary school students being punished surfaced online and Kenyans were upset about it. The students had been tied with a rope around a tree and they could hardly move. You could clearly see that these students are undergoing massive punishment and chances might be they were badly beaten afterwards. Many Kenyans claimed that these teachers need to be arrested and charged in the court of law since this is brutality not correction. Some said that incase students do bad mistake that can't be handled by teachers alone then parents are supposed to be included since raising children is a community task. On my opinion, such punishment measures should be banned by all means. Students need to be corrected in a better way, not harassed.(Source, Plug TV)
