The Indonesian government on Thursday claimed that its Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria, had received a threat from some terrorists following the executions of some Nigerians in Indonesia for drug trafficking.
Indonesian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Arrmanatha Nasir, who made this known said: “In principle, all threats aimed at Indonesian embassies, consulates and diplomatic staff are taken seriously. We have a standard procedure to respond to such threats.”
The spokesperson explained that after receiving the threat, the embassy contacted with Nigerian security authorities and was investigating to what extent the embassy, envoys and diplomatic staff would be affected.
He also revelead that the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra, Australia, received a similar terror threat recently and after adequate analysis, several certain steps were taken to minimize the threat.
