You may have heard the story of Mallam Kabir Babai, a rig operator who recently got killed in Osun state while defending his colleague. Kabir's supervisor has since emerged to shed more light on the incident.

Describing Kabir, Agu said, "He was also a sincere person, peace-loving, cheerful, and he believed so much in what his Quran tells him. If you sent Mallam to Ajegunle to buy anything, he would give you back your change, no matter how much the money was. When I heard that he got shot, I said it could not be him because he would not fight with anyone."

Narrating the incident that led to Kabir's death, Agu said, "Our truck was making a turning at Ota Efun, Osogbo, and it developed a minor fault. The workers stepped out of the faulty truck to fix the battery. A minibus carrying some security officers met them at the scene. The security officers were said to be pursuing someone. The officers came out of their bus and started questioning our men who were working on the faulty truck on why they blocked the road when the officers got to the point.

Narrating further, Agu said, "One of the officers had already shot our truck driver in the hand before the men could explain anything. Thankfully, the bullet did not penetrate the man. He had juju. Mallam Kabir was under the rig when all that happened. The gunshot made Kabir come out from under the rig where he was repairing the truck. Kabir asked the officer why he shot the driver, but the officer did not respond verbally. He started slapping Kabir instead and hit him severally before shooting him in the chest. Mallam died on that spot."

Agu said Kabir had planned to relocate his pregnant wife and his child to Osun State before getting killed.
