According to a report by Nation, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Lagos Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi has described the party’s National Leader and presidential aspirant Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the best among those aspiring to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari. This, he said, is due to his legacies “that will continue to be a reference point of excellence even for posterity yet unborn”.

The truth is that Tinubu is one of the most prepared presidential candidates among the already declared candidates in both PDP and APC. And one important thing that has surprised Nigerians and many politicians is that Tinubu and his supporters have never at any time contemplated any kind of favor or endorsement from Buhari. How can someone that has a political structure of over 30 years be seeking endorsement from Buhari? Tinubu has a political base, he has a political structure.

While many other presidential aspirants have no political structure or base, they can be referred to as floating politicians like a spirit, rather, they are waiting to shock Nigerians with imaginary Buhari endorsement. But Buhari has said that he has no specific or special candidate. The truth is that Tinubu knows Buhari and Buhari knows that Tinubu understands the game. This is military warfare but a political battle with experiences.

The more Buhari gets involved to endorse or to impose the more it will get complicated, remember his words. "l belong to everybody l belong to nobody" aspirants that cannot play the politics of primary election will find it difficult to face the opposition and there are many bridges to cross. There's an African adage that says if the journey is too smooth then you must be descending the hill.
