The Inspector General of Police (IG), Mr. Solomon Arase, on Thursday ordered policemen  not to carry the handbags/ luggages of those they are assigned to guard. In his words: “those of you who are posted to various VIPs, on no account should you carry their bags, on no account should you act as domestic servants to them.”

According to thisdaylive.com . Mr. Solomon Arase promised not to detain anybody more than 24hrs.

The IG said he has directed the Commissioners of Police in charge of airport to arrest any police man found carrying boxes and rifle and dragging them all over the place.
