“What is my offence, he started beating me, he naked me, he injured me on my chest, hand,..........." Policewoman accuses her boss

Following the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, on the alleged assault on woman Inspector Bamidele Olorunsogo by the Divisional Crime Officer in Ode-Omu, Osun State, Matthew Ajayi, the Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Olaleye Faleye, said Ajayi has been under interrogation.

Inspector Olorunsogo attached to Ode-Omu community in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State was allegedly battered by Ajayi over proposed amorous relationship.

In a viral video obtained by newsmen, Inspector Olorunsogo claimed that the incident happened at the station on Tuesday in the presence of two constables and ten civilians.

Bamidele alleged that her boss made a dating proposal to her which she turned down on the ground that she is married.

She said: “What is my offence, he started beating me, he naked me, he injured me on my chest, hand, his name is Ajayi Matthew because he asked me out and I told him I am married. He started blackmailing me

“He was telling people around that we were dating and I took offence to it. He battered me in the presence of two constables, ten civilians. He went inside, carried a Dane gun and want to gunned me down, the civilians took me out of the office that I should run away, but I insisted that if he wants to kill me he should go ahead. Ajayi wants to kill me.”

Reacting to the post, IGP Baba, in a statement by the Force Public Relation Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said: “We will await the report of the investigation from Osun State Police Command before necessary actions are taken. However we assure the general public that justice will be done in the case, to protect the core values and ethics of the NPF.”

Police spokesperson in Osun state, Yemisi Opalola said: “The CP in his swift intervention, has interviewed the officers’ involved in this unprofessional act and consequently ordered thorough investigation of the incident to unravel the circumstances that led to this unethical behaviours. Therefore, the CP is assuring the public that justice will prevail on the matter.”(Nation)
