The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu's counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, has cried out over an attack on hometown.

He lamented the attack and destruction of properties in his hometown of Urualla community in the Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State.

SaharaReporters on Friday reported that gunmen purportedly enforcing a botched five-day sit-at-home order issued by the self-proclaimed disciple of Kanu, Simon Ekpa, attacked parts of Owerri, Mbaitoli and environs in Imo State.

The heinous attackers reportedly killed Prince Iheme, the elder brother to the Nollywood superstar, Osita Iheme, a police officer and injured the state Commissioner for Solid Minerals, while also burning down shops and vehicles in the markets.

Amongst the locations attacked by the gunmen include Barrister Ejimakor’s hometown of Urualla, where cars and shops in a main market close to his house were set ablaze.

Reacting to the incident, Ejimakor condemned the atrocious act, saying that Friday, December 9, had become a day that would live in infamy, noting that he and his people were extremely upset over the unfortunate incident.

He said, “Today, 9th December 2022, several armed men invaded my hometown, attacked my relatives, vandalised their properties and set fire to our main market, five minutes away from my house. It’s a day that will forever live in infamy. I’m very upset; my people are very upset.”
