The police in Bauchi on Wednesday disclosed that operatives of its Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on Sunday raided a criminal hideout and arrested nine suspected Sara-Suka (thugs) involved in the luring and killing of 23-year-old Abbas Jibrin, alias Timo, last year in the state capital.
The Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Police Command, SP Ahmed Mohamed Wakil, in a statement signed and made available to journalists, said four of those arrested were prime suspects in the killing of the victim.
He informed that the prime suspects and others now at large inflicted cutlass injuries on the deceased who was later rescued by the police and taken to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), in Bauchi where he was certified dead.
Wakil gave the names of the arrested suspects as Mustapha Abdulmumini, 20,
Kabiru Haruna, 23, Sulaiman Al-Mustapha, 18, Umar Ibrahim, 19, Ibrahim Ahmad, 19, Sunusi Abdulhamid, 18, Idris Malam, 19, Ibrahim Mohammed, 23, and Sani Muktar, 21.
According to the police spokesman, the quartet of Mustapha Abdulmumini, Kabiru Haruna, Sulaiman Al-Mustapha and Umar Ibrahim mutilated the body of the victim last year.
