Three persons have been killed in a clash between two rival cult groups in Owo Town, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. 

They were reportedly shot dead at different locations in Owo on Tuesday night, May 10, 2023. 

The bodies of the victims were reportedly carted away by their assailants.

Spokesman for the State Police Command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami Omisanya, who confirmed the incident said the killers were yet to be arrested.

“Policemen are currently on patrol within Owo. No one is ready to report or even assist with an information.” the PPRO added. 

However, the anti-cultism men have been deployed.

Special Adviser to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Security Matters,  Adetunji Adeleye, said security operatives had been deployed to curb the killings and to make necessary arrest immediately.
