A vigilante, Usman Yahaya Mohammed, has been arrested for allegedly macheting an Okada rider to death.

He also stole his motorcycle with the intent to sell it and raise money for his wedding in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State.

A resident, Idris Abubakar, who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust said the suspect killed the commercial motorcyclist last Friday, September 29, 2023 at bypass, Eppa road.

“The suspect slaughtered the bike man on Friday but luck ran out on him when his phone fell at the scene. The corpse was found on Monday morning. The suspect’s wedding is in one month’s time. His name is Usman Yahaya," he narrated.

It was further learnt that the suspect had applied to join the army before the alleged act.

The PPRO added that a Bajaj motorcycle suspected to have been robbed from the deceased was recovered from an uncompleted building.
