A 28-year-old, Emmanuel Godwin, suspected to be member of of a tricycle snatching gang has been arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, attached to the Lagos State Police Command in Lagos. The suspect stated that he just specialise in snatching tricycles to get rich quick and meet his needs and claimed that he is not an armed robber as he doesn't use gun during his operations.
The Lagos State police command said Godwin and his colleagues usually board a tricycle as passengers only for them to push the driver out and take off with the tricycle whenever they get to a convenient place. The suspect who had earlier been arrested on January 1 but released was rearrested last week when the owner of a tricyle he stole last week reported to operatives of the SARS in Lagos State.
