Maintain standard dignity of the Force – IG of Police warns new ADCs, CSOs

The Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, has warned newly appointed Aide de Camp, ADC and Chief Security Officers, CSOs to State Governors not to become domestic hands.

Arase gave the warning yesterday during a two-day induction course organised for the ADCs and CSOs where he also charged them to be professional in the discharge of their duties and maintain the standard dignity of the force.

A statement by Force spokesman, CP Emmanuel Ojukwu quoted Arase as saying that actions which could demean their office must be avoided.

“The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase, has charged newly appointed Aides-De-Camp (ADC) and Chief Security Officers (CSOs) attached to State Governors in the Federation to be professional in their duties and also maintain the standard dignity of the Force.

“The call came while the IGP was declaring open a two-day induction course for newly appointed ADCs and CSOs, which was held at Nigeria Police Force International Peace Keeping Training Centre, Force Headquarters Abuja. The course is aimed at empowering and improving the capacity of the officers.

“The IGP further warned the officers not to engage in any domestic duty or conducts that may demean their offices, but to maintain a standard attitude in line with the code of conduct while ensuring security coordination of their principals”.
