Nigerian blogger denies being fined $50,000 by US Court for defaming MFM’s Olukoya

A US based Nigerian social media influencer and YouTuber, Mrs. Funke Ashekun has debunked media reports claiming that she was fined $50,000 for defaming the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire & Miracles, Pastor Daniel Olukoya.

Ashekun was referring to media reports in which it was claimed that Baltimore County Circuit Court in the United States of America presided over by Theresa Adams, had slammed a record $50,000 damages on her for defaming  Olukoya.

Reacting, Ashekun said Olukoya was not a plaintiff in the matter and she could not have been fined for defaming him. She explained that she was sued for defamation by three  pastors of the church in the USA,  Adekunle Adekola, Kunle Ladipo , Grace Ugeh and two branches of the denomination; MFM, , Rockville, Maryland and MFM, USA.

She said the court only fined her in favour of MFM, USA and not for the other parties in the suit.

P.M. News obtained the judgement papers and can confirm that no reliefs were granted  to any of the parties in the suit apart from MFM, USA.

Ashekun who is known for speaking out against alleged sexual assault of women in religious circles has used her Facebook page and Youtube channel to call out an  unidentified pastor she calls ‘Pharoah’ whom she has accused of sexually molesting ladies.

But she maintained that she had never said Olukoya was the Pharaoh she was talking about. She berated MFM members who she said were after her though she had not directly called out their General Overseer.
