During the investigation, suspects Muniru Salawudeen, Rashidat Akanji, Ismail Olalekan, and Obaleye Sanmi were arrested. They confessed to purchasing various human parts from Adekunle Mohammed for money rituals
On August 10, 2024, at about 12:15 a.m, one Ayede reported that a foul odor was emanating from a building owned by Muhammad Adekunle, who was not residing there but visited at odd hour Police from Moniya Divisional Headquarters investigated and found a dry well in the compound containing what appeared to be mutilated human bodies. The remains of three unidentified bodies were removed and taken to the State Hospital Morgue for preservation and autopsy. Photographs were also taken.
