A woman was hospitalized with serious burns after she attempted to break up with a married man.

The pastor, Rev Rosbon Munamba of Zimbabwe, could not bear to be dumped. He allegedly poured sulfuric acid on his estranged lover.
 

38-year-old Rudo Bakasa suffered burned to 50 percent of her body during the assault.

Bakasa is fighting for her life at the Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harare.

Munamba, who is married to another woman, was unhappy that his lover survived the acid attack and allegedly attempted to kill her in the hospital while visiting her.

Bakasa told police that when she attempted to break up with Munamba, he warned her saying: “no one dumps me.”

As the two were walking towards the woman’s house, he produced a container from his pocket and tried to force her to drink the liquid.

“He held the container to my mouth and tried to force it open. He almost strangled me,” Bakasa said. The liquid got into the woman’s ear and on her face.

He then began pouring the remaining liquid all over her body. People heard the woman’s screams and came to her aid. She was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
