Buhari orders arrest of brother-in-law for extorting money to arrange access to Aso Rock

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the arrest of his brother-in-law Musa Yola admit allegations that he is extorting large sums of money from people with the promise that he can arrange access to the president for them.

Over recent weeks, it has been alleged that Alhaji Yola, the immediate younger brother of President Buhari’s wife Aisha, has been charging huge some to provide access and arrange contracts.  Our source said he recently received N300m (£953,000) from a businessman after promising to provide political access to secure an oil block from the Buhari administration.

After getting wind of the scam, President Buhari ordered Nigeria’s security agents to arrest Alhaji Yola and he may be charged with extortion.  Apparently, President Buhari personally ordered that Alhaji Yola be produced before him in handcuffs in the company of the businessman he duped.

After telling the businessman that he was stupid to part with such significant cash when he should know that he would not participate in fraud, the president ordered State Security Services (SSS) agents attached to Aso Rock Villa to thoroughly investigate the scam. He also ordered the SSS operatives to ensure that the businessman recovered his money from his brother-in-law.

One SSS source said: “Alhaji Yola has refunded the money to the affected businessman. He has subsequently been released on bail.”

Over recent weeks, it had been rumoured that Alhaji Yola and his brother Modi Halilu, have teamed up with one Musa Daura, President Buhari’s nephew, to fleece Nigerians and foreigners alike, who want to have audience with the president's wife. Alhaji Yola in particular, is said to be very extravagant and now cruises around in a Mercedes E Class worth N18m and lavishes as much as $30,000 on a prostitute for a one night stand.
